During our nearly 40-year history, Morrissey-Compton and its staff have been strongly committed to providing quality and non-discriminatory services to all individuals regardless of their race, ethnic background, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, and ability to pay. However, we acknowledge that we need to be vigilant with our efforts and that there is always more work to do. We promise to continue to promote awareness among our staff through ongoing diversity and inclusion training and engagement so that all are treated equally and with great respect.
The Morrissey-Compton Educational Center stands in support of Asian American and Pacific Islander individuals, families, communities, and businesses. We condemn pandemic, racist, and xenophobic rhetoric and acts of violence. We are committed to treating all people, regardless of their backgrounds, language, or religious beliefs, with dignity and equity.
We are deeply saddened and appalled by disturbing racist events in communities across the United States and we mourn the recent deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and others. We also lament the long history of systemic and institutional racism and violence against generations of African Americans. We recognize and support the efforts of the Black Lives Matter protests in promoting much needed change for the better and also recognize the need for all of us to continue the fight for equity, inclusion, and justice for all people and especially those who are marginalized and victimized.
